Hi I'm Lauren Lauria and I am a certified Pilates and group exercise instructor. Whether I am working one on one with a client or teaching a class, core training is the one concept I always stay true to.
Many people believe that the core just involves the abdominal muscles, when in fact the pelvis hips and spine are all pieces of the core puzzle. Within my DVD "Totally Core with Lauren Lauria" I focus on each of these areas and take you through exercises within a series of positions for an effective core workout.
After a brief warm up I take you through exercises in the supine position where we'll be lying on our back working mainly the abdominals and obliques, the muscles that support our pelvis.
Next I take you through a series of side lying exercises where we'll be laying on our side focusing on the inner and outer thighs, glutes and abdominals, the muscles that give us strong and toned hips.
The Final series of exercises I take you through are in the prone position where we will be on our stomach working the many muscles that support the spine including once again the abdominals.
We then end our core workout with a closing stretching segment.
